About me

I’m a bladesmith living and working in Seattle, WA. I first picked up bladesmithing because I wanted to cook the veggies I grew with tools I made. The first knife I made (made when I was 14) was from a piece of coil spring off an old honda. As a knife it’s completely useless - so thick you could use it as a pry bar. Plus I didn’t understand how to harden steel so even if I’d ground it properly it wouldn’t hold an edge. But I had so much fun making it I immediately wanted to make another, and another, and another.

My goal is to make knives that endure. I want my knives to be used, sharpened, re-sharpened, occasionally re-straightened, rehandled, and ultimately handed to the next generation. Nothing makes me happier than to see people using good tools I made to make food for other people.
